The Music Settlement seeks a part-time Voice Instructor to advance and support its mission through inspiring students, imparting sound pedagogy, and complying with organizational policies.

Classification: Part-time, under 30 hours per week

Reports to: Chair, Center for Music and the Department Head, Voice

Teaching may take place at the University Circle campus, the Ohio City campus, or both.

Inspiring and Encouraging Students

• ·Encourage individual student progress and foster growth of studio
• ·Identify musical goals and specific needs of each student

Pedagogy and Studio Development

• ·Encourage students to participate in Music Settlement ensembles
• ·Encourage students to audition for Music Settlement scholarships
• ·Have students participate in at least one Music Settlement recital per year

Compliance and Communication

• ·Maintain communication with students and parents/guardians as applicable
• ·Keep accurate records of student progress
• ·Enter attendance in a timely fashion
• ·Attend mandatory all-organization meetings and necessary training sessions
• ·Be punctual to all lessons, rehearsals, and meetings
• ·Check TMS-issued email at least once per week

• ·Bachelor's degree in music or related field required; Master's preferred
• ·Previous experience in private teaching desired
• ·Hourly rate based on level of education and teaching experience
