The Music Settlement seeks part-time Private Lesson Instructors in Piano, Strings, Voice, Brass, Woodwinds, and Percussion. Since 1912, TMS has been open to everyone wanting to learn, create, celebrate, and heal with music, serving more than 9,000 members of the Greater Cleveland community each year.

Classification: Part Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt

Reports To: Chair, Center for Music

Location: TMS University Circle and Ohio City Campuses

Start Date: August 31, 2026

• ·Provide high-quality music instruction to students of all ages and skill levels
• ·Customize teaching approaches to accommodate diverse learning styles and goals
• ·Communicate effectively with students, parents/guardians, administrative staff, and colleagues
• ·Participate in faculty meetings, student recitals, and occasional community engagement activities
• ·Maintain accurate student attendance records and uphold administrative expectations regarding scheduling and billing
• ·Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment
• ·Maintain on-site availability for afternoon and evening hours

• ·Bachelor's degree in music or related field required; Master's or equivalent professional experience preferred
• ·At least one year of previous teaching experience required; community music school experience preferred
• ·Strong communication and interpersonal skills

$40.00–$46.66 per hour for individual instruction, determined by education and experience.
