The Music Settlement seeks a full-time Maintenance Assistant to assist the Director of Buildings & Grounds in all aspects of maintenance of the historic University Circle buildings and campus.
Tuesday–Thursday 12:30pm–9pm, Friday 12:30pm–8:30pm, Saturday 8am–5pm. Occasional Sundays.
RESPONSIBILITIES — BUILDING MAINTENANCE - ·Carpentry skills necessary to repair wear and tear, including drywall/plaster repairs, door maintenance, basic woodworking, and painting
- ·HVAC maintenance on historic buildings, including boiler systems
- ·Basic electrical repair and troubleshooting, including bulb and ballast replacement
- ·Basic plumbing repair and troubleshooting
- ·Open and close/secure facilities, operate security systems, and respond to emergencies as needed
- ·Perform daily, weekly, and monthly preventive maintenance tasks
RESPONSIBILITIES — SCHOOL ACTIVITIES - ·Assist with daily event setups and teardowns, including moving chairs, tables, and risers for musical events, lessons, and ensemble events
RESPONSIBILITIES — HOUSEKEEPING - ·Housekeeping, carpet shampooing, detailed cleaning, floor maintenance, and spill/accident clean-ups
RESPONSIBILITIES — GROUNDS - ·Lawn maintenance and landscaping, including operating commercial lawn equipment
- ·Snow and ice removal, salting, and leaf removal using commercial equipment
- ·High School Diploma or GED required; additional maintenance experience or certifications preferred
- ·2 or more years of hands-on building repair and maintenance experience required
- ·Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs. and move heavier items with mechanical assistance
- ·Ability to work on ladders and in close or awkward spaces
- ·Must pass BCI, FBI, and State of Ohio background checks
