Makeshift Radio Theater, a collective dedicated to live radio drama performed through sound, music, and foley effects, presents Three Spooky Tales: three short stories, The Mirror, A Game of Chicken, and Whistle Stop, each approximately 25 minutes.
Sunday, September 20, 5:00 PM and Monday, September 21, 6:30 PM, at Makeshift Theater at Coach House. Callback Tuesday, September 22, 6:30 PM, if needed. If unable to attend but still wishing to try out, call Dave Binkley at (330) 235-2956.
The Mirror: Narrator (same across all three stories); Rob Thomas, newly married, wealthy, very much in love; Kathy Thomas, newly married, knows what she wants and generally gets it; Jim Wakeman, lifelong friend of Kathy, a little shady; Mrs. Druckett, antique shop owner with a middle European accent; Officer Marcus, an older cop on the beat for over 20 years; 911 Operator, 2 lines; Minister, 3 lines at an outdoor funeral service.
A Game of Chicken: Narrator (same across all three stories); George McGravit, at a class reunion telling his story about a fight with a ghost; Tricia Yarrow, at the reunion, recipient of the ghost story; Officer Crenshaw, picks up George after his accident and drives him into town; Jenny, waitress at Country Kitchen with a story to tell; Bobby Bateman, a ghost character, mostly evil laughs.
Whistle Stop: Narrator (same across all three stories); Jerry Northrup and Pam Northrup, a married couple on a trip neither is looking forward to; Fenton Parker, train station master for many years; Walker, officer on scene who discovers the accident and engineers the rescue; Tracy, police dispatcher; Troy, EMT.
